Assigning Employees to Routes
Each route can be assigned to one or more employees. Assigned routes appear on the employee's dashboard so they know where to go and when.
Assigning during route creation
When creating a new route, select employees from the Assigned Employee field. You can assign multiple employees if a route requires more than one person.
Reassigning routes
To change the assigned employee:
- Open the route from the Routes table
- Edit the Assigned Employee field
- Select the new employee(s)
- Save the route
The route will immediately appear on the new employee's dashboard and be removed from the previous assignment.
Employee availability
When assigning employees, consider their availability days setting (configured in Employee Management). Each employee has configured days they're available to work (defaulting to Monday through Friday).
Viewing assignments
From the Routes page
The Routes table shows the assigned employee for each route. Filter the table by employee to see all routes assigned to a specific person.
From the Employee page
Each employee's detail page shows their assigned routes, giving you a complete view of their workload.
Best practices
- One primary technician per route -- While you can assign multiple employees, most routes work best with a single primary technician who knows the locations
- Balance workloads -- Use the Routes table to compare route counts and total service times across employees
- Consider geography -- Assign technicians to routes near their home or starting location to reduce initial commute time
